Clinical experience

Qualified as a pharmacist in 2010 and an independent prescriber since 2018, working in GP surgeries and primary care. Clinical pharmacist and team leader at Cumberland House Surgery, Southport, since 2019, writing prescribing protocols including shared care; previously seven years in community pharmacy including pharmacy manager and regional Safer Care Champion roles.

ADHD experience

Carries out private adult ADHD assessments following NICE guidance using DSM-5 criteria and the DIVA-5 interview, manages titration and medication reviews directly as a prescriber, and supports patients moving to shared care with their NHS GP where the practice agrees.

Prescribing

Qualified prescriber. Independent prescriber since 2018 — prescribes and adjusts ADHD medication directly without referring to a separate prescriber.

Assessment approach

Assessments follow NICE guidance and recognised structured tools (DSM-5 criteria, DIVA-5), with titration started low and adjusted in stages until the most effective dose is found; patients are considered stable after three consecutive months on the same medication and dose.
